Scholars Junction is intended to be a permanent archive. However, if circumstances require redaction, or withdrawal of your work, you have options.

  • Redaction: You can redact any undesirable or obsolete material from your downloadable file. Email sct@library.msstate.edu to  your current file replaced with a redacted version. We will add a note in the item record that redactions were made.
  • Withdrawal: You or your publisher can request withdrawal of items that violate copyright or are erroneous or obsolete. The item record of a withdrawn item remains visible as a "tombstone;" a note will be added to the metadata that the item has been withdrawn, with a general reason for withdrawal. (For example: "Item withdrawn at author's request.")
  • Removal: In extreme circumstances, we can completely remove an item from our system. This option should be a last resort; this option breaks links, causes errors, and completely erases our record of the item.

Contact sct@library.msstate.edu to discuss your options.
