There are several ways to get help choosing a topic through the MSU Libraries! For more help on getting ideas for a topic, get one-on-one help with a librarian through a research consultation.
If you prefer to browse through databases and collections, try the following resources:
- Research Guides - websites designed to help give you a better idea of the resources we have for certain topics. You can search by subject (on the left of the screen), or you can type in a keyword in the search box.
- Subject Databases - if you know what subject you're interested in, but you're not sure how to narrow that subject down into a manageable paper topic, try searching in a subject-specific database. Use the subject limiters to borrow the vocabulary of the database and try to get a manageable number of search results that isn't too large or too small.
You can always ask for help with any of these resources!
