An excellent resource to consult when wanting to cite a resource is our research guide on citations:  http://guides.library.msstate.edu/citationguides  The tab labelled APA will show you how to cite an article.

Another web resource that will show you how to cite in APA is the Purdue Online Writing Lab (OWL):  https://owl.purdue.edu/owl/research_and_citation/apa_style/apa_style_introduction.html

The general way both resources show to cite an online journal article is:

Author, A. A., & Author, B. B. (Date of publication). Title of article. Title of Online Periodical, volume number(issue number if available). Retrieved from http://www.someaddress.com/full/url/
